Crash: 1
Wallan and Broadford Police: 0
Crash, as in, the Shetland Pony named 'Crash' who escaped and made a stretch of the Hume Freeway, Wandong, his personal grazing board for over an hour.
On the evening of 19 May, police from Wallan and Broadford, in addition to being capable operators, found themselves assuming new roles as 'professional pony wranglers' thanks to this wayward Shetland pony.
Things we learnt from that fateful night:
🐴 Crash enjoys untouched grass on the side of busy freeways and running away from police
👮♀️ Members, when put to the test, have the keen ability to adapt (shout out to Senior Constable Jacinta Ellis and Senior Constable Rob Mathieson).
Anyway, Crash did eventually get caught. And no, he wasn't arrested. He was returned to his owner who got him home safely.
Enjoy your belly full of fresh roadside greenery, Crash... don't let it happen again.
