Meet Madeline Grenier 👋 Originally from Valparaiso, IN, Madeline is graduating with a master’s degree in music performance, specializing in French horn. The UO Horn Studio had the biggest impact on Madeline’s experience during her time at the School of Music and Dance (SOMD). “It gave me a great community from the start of my degree where I was able to improve my musicianship in a fun environment! It’s also been helpful at improving my leadership skills because I’ve had the opportunity to plan and lead events like our weekly morning warm-ups,” she said. Madeline served as a graduate employee for the Horn Studio, gaining valuable experience and contributing to her department. Her favorite resource at SOMD was professor Leander Star. “He helped me grow more as a musician,” she shared. After graduation, Madeline plans to move to Vancouver, WA to perform with the Vancouver Symphony and pursue freelance teaching and performing opportunities in the area.
