The U.S. Navy plans to rename the USNS Harvey Milk, which is named after gay rights icon who was assassinated in 1978. Milk was a Navy veteran before going on to become one of the first openly-gay elected officials in U.S. history. CBS News has obtained U.S. Navy documents about a proposed timelines for changing the name of this vessel and others – including the USNS Thurgood Marshall, USNS Harriet Tubman and USNS Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
