Skinny the harbor seal turns 50 today at the Oregon Coast Aquarium in Newport, making her the oldest known harbor seal on Earth. She was rescued as a starving pup in 1975 and has lived at the aquarium since 1992. Most harbor seals live 20 to 30 years. Only one other has ever reached 50—Skinny is the last one still alive.
