Did you know there is no such thing as a ripe green pepper? Every single variety of pepper, sweet and hot, if left on the vine to ripen will turn color other than green. 🌶️🤔 • The reason we see so many green peppers is because time spent on the plant ripening is costly to the grower and the sooner and earlier they pick their crops the more profitable they become. 🤑💰 • While this make sense from a business standpoint for the grower, it is very harmful to the consumers since many of the essential nutrients we want from those peppers and other plants flood into the fruit or vegetable during the final stages of ripening. ⌛🌶️ • Not to mention fully vine-ripened produce taste a lot better. 😋 • I've worked with multiple people who have negative reactions to green bell peppers but feel fine when they have RIPPENED bell peppers (yellow, red, orange, etc.) • • Whenever possible, go for ripe (non green) peppers 👍🏼 • • • • • #peppers #ripe #colorful #notgreen #health #information #funfact ...
