Heartbreaking update out of Chicago! 💔⁣ •⁣ The Sky have announced that point guard Courtney Vandersloot will miss the remainder of the 2025 WNBA season after tearing her ACL during Friday’s game against the Indiana Fever. 😭⁣ •⁣ The 36-year-old was injured in the first quarter while driving to the basket and had to be helped off the court. An MRI confirmed the tear, and she’ll undergo surgery in the coming days. 🥺⁣ •⁣ Vandersloot is a WNBA legend, the active career leader in assists with 2,886 and second only to Sue Bird all-time. 💪⁣ •⁣ She was drafted third overall by Chicago in 2011, led the Sky to their first-ever WNBA title in 2021, and added a second ring with the New York Liberty in 2024 before returning to the Sky this offseason. 🏆⁣ •⁣ In her 15th season, Vandersloot was averaging 10.6 points, 5.3 assists, and 3.1 rebounds per game.
