“Create a marketing campaign for a women’s sports team or event” A project assigned to me in my Gender & Sport course in the UMass Boston Sport Leadership and Administration program, challenging students to take an innovative approach in designing a creative marketing campaign for a women’s sport focus of their choice.
I chose to focus on thepwhlofficial with the tag line “So Does She.” working to showcase the true grit and skill of female athletes, debunk common misconceptions of women’s sports such as being “soft” or “slow” and to bridge the gap between nhl and thepwhlofficial fan bases by showcasing the ability of female hockey players to bring the same elements of excitement, skill, and engagement to their game as the men do.
This video sparks a sense of excitement and inspiration within me and by sharing this video beyond the classroom, I hope to invoke the same emotions within all who see it.
