In collaboration with @mikejonesnc and @mitchellandness, the first-of-its-kind NBA Black excellence jersey is a tribute to Charlotte’s rich history and vibrant neighborhoods. Featuring the iconic Hornets pinstripes in gold, it proudly displays the names of historic neighborhoods like Brooklyn Village, Beatties Ford, and Plaza Midwood, echoing the original 1988 uniforms. The number four, symbolizing Charlotte’s prominent area code, is central to the design, embodying the adage “home is where the heart is.” The letters HARTE in Charlotte are beautifully highlighted with dogwood petals, North Carolina’s state flower, while the gold trim pays homage to the significance of gold in African history and culture. This jersey is a perfect blend of tradition and innovation, honoring the past while celebrating the present.
