ABS challenge system could be implemented in 2026. 👀⁣ •⁣ MLB commissioner Rob Manfred says the league will propose implementing the automated ball-strike challenge system for the 2026 regular season and with control over the Competition Committee, MLB essentially has the green light to push it through. ⚾⁣ •⁣ The system, already tested in the minors and Spring Training, allows each team two challenges per game to contest ball-strike calls using an electronic strike zone. 😲⁣ •⁣ Human umpires will still make the initial calls, but the challenge feature gives players a real-time chance to correct egregious misses.
