Trigger warning ‼️ I’ve just finished a blog post on travel insurance, and thought I’d since there’s a lot of new faces since our crash - and it never really made it onto the grid (it’s in my highlights somewhere) - I’d talk about our experience Back in 2019, after living in Bali for almost a year, I was driving us home when we got t-boned by another bike. I remember seeing the headlights, and waking up in hospital looking like the photos above, with Tim forgetting what happened every few minutes. (We had helmets on) I got away with a concussion, bruised ribs, and banged up ankle. But Tim’s nose, cheekbone, and eye socket were broken and he needed reconstructive surgery to fix them. We both had travel insurance. But a few weeks before the crash, Tim swapped to cheaper insurance. He’d had good, more expensive insurance for two years and never needed it - so he swapped to something cheaper. Turns out, it was terrible timing!
