UNILATERAL STRENGTH TRAINING 🧰
-
To all my runners who treat the gym like it’s lava—no shade, I promise—but if you’re serious about getting faster, stronger, and running for the long haul, it’s time to embrace unilateral training.
Since both running and walking are done one leg at a time, it makes sense to train that way too. Unilateral exercises (working one side or limb at a time) help correct muscle imbalances, improve balance and stability, and reduce the risk of injury by strengthening your weaker side. It’s one of the smartest ways to support your running goals without overhauling your entire routine.
Here’s a reminder to include unilateral patterns in your training. Side reminder don’t sleep on those hips, strengthen your abduction and adduction muscles.
