Meet Daniel Ramos Mejia, a senior biomedical engineering student with a strong sense of purpose and ambition. Raised in Union City, CA, a proud Bay Area native and first-generation college student, who is setting an inspiring example for his family and community. Wanting to build a brighter future for his family, he decided to pursue higher education and began his journey at a local community college before transferring to San José State University. Daniel's passion for biomedical engineering is deeply personal. After losing the two most important people in his life to cancer, he became determined to find a solution for one of the most challenging health issues of our time. His experiences have fueled his drive to make a difference in the field of cancer research, a path he’s committed to with both his heart and mind.
