Caroline Glaser, a junior mechanical engineering student at San José State University, is making a tangible impact as a student. Through her work at the SJSU Industrial Training & Assessment Center (ITAC), she helps manufacturers optimize energy efficiency while leading the newly founded SJSU Fixit Clinic branch, where students and community members can repair broken household items and develop hands-on technical skills. With a passion for sustainability and real-world problem-solving, Caroline is not only growing as an engineer but also building a collaborative community.
Her leadership in organizing the first Fixit Clinic event, which repaired over 35 items with the help of 20 volunteers, has made a lasting impact on campus. She hopes to expand the clinic's reach beyond SJSU and forge a working relationship with the City of San José to serve even more people. With her dedication to sustainability, she is shaping the future of engineering one repair at a time.
