To be honest, Guam wasn’t on my bucket list — but now I know it absolutely should have been. 🙌🏼
I first landed here after 5 weeks at sea aboard La Vagabonde, where I met U.S. Navy Sailors (**not marines — sorry I misspoke! 😉 Please don’t bite me) & toured a 360-foot, $2 billion nuclear submarine (umm who had that on my sailing-adventure “bingo card” because I sure didn’t?! 🤯)
10 days & one spontaneous trip to Pohnpei, Micronesia later, I returned — this time on a long layover — with just four hours to finally explore the island. Definitely ambitious, but I was up for the challenge (& I sort of enjoy stressing you all out hehe)! 😅
What I found was breathtaking beaches, lush mountains, rich Chamorro culture, volcanic pools, welcoming locals, & an unexpected reunion with friends… it all completely shifted how I saw this place.
Grateful for the people, the stories, & the beautiful reminder to never judge a book by its cover. 😉
Thank you visitguamusa, and my tour guides Ron & Mar...
