I don’t really believe that “everything happens for a reason,” but I do believe that we get to write our own meaning into everything. Haven’t you met people who’ve become hardened and bitter because of the pain they’ve gone through? Sure, we all have. At times, we act out this way too. But haven’t we also met those special humans who have gone through so much, and yet, they’ve allowed their suffering to create even more capacity to love & empathize, more generosity & charity, more patience & perspective? The only difference between the first group and the second, is how they chose to react to their circumstances… We are each responsible for the legacy we’ll leave behind, and for the story we’ll choose to write over our short moments on earth. How do you want to be remembered? I hope that even within the darkest caverns I walk, even in the face of cruelty or unkindness, I will seek to be changed only for the better… only to bring more light into other people’s dark nights. 🤍 ...
