The magic of the Serengeti. đŸ„č A friend asked me why the lions wouldn’t attack the elephants. 🐘 We give lions a reputation for being super aggressive, but they’re actually more strategic & opportunistic than anything
 Lions are fast, but they lack endurance & tire quickly. So they prefer to preserve their energy, and will rarely attempt to hunt an animal they don’t have a decent chance at taking down. To make up for their limitations in stamina, you’ll often find female lionesses hunting in groups (and yes, it’s typically the females who hunt!), organizing themselves into a triangular formation to corner & trap unsuspecting prey. It’s super impressive to watch! This way, despite animals like zebra and antelope having the benefit of speed + endurance (and therefore able to outrun a single lion), a coalition of clever lionesses can have a chance at catching some dinner.
