Our Dragons make a global impact! Kala Summers, BA '25, is a fifth year Global Studies major, with a focus on human rights and global justice. She traveled to Chile with drexelstudyabroad for Intensive Courses Abroad (ICAs), where she studied discrimination of older populations in rapidly developing countries. "Not only were we the first cohort this program has had since 2019, but we were able to learn Chilean history and experience its culture in the 'heart of Chile,'" says Summers. "One of my biggest experiences was visiting Centro Kintun the dementia center, going to the Museum of Memory & Human Rights and being able to see a live political demonstration, and visiting Valparaiso, Chile's main port city. This study abroad was unforgettable and will stay with me for a lifetime!" ICAs offer Drexel students the opportunity to have an international academic experience in a short period of time.
