It’s not lost on me how lucky I am as a queer person to have such supportive and loving parents. Whether I was 12th or 1st, singing, swimming, running, or even unicycling, my dad never failed to show his love and support. There’s a reason I was able to stand on the start line of the Olympic Trials last summer and know that no matter the outcome of the race, I was going to be okay. The love from my parents is one of the many reasons I think the @kickdocumentary is going to be so impactful. There’s far too many LGBTQ+ youth whose parents don’t accept them because of who they love or how they identify.
