I’m not exhausted from making content. I’m exhausted from losing focus.
I don’t (wanna) measure success in numbers but I’m human—I see patterns. And when the numbers shift, I notice. Not because they define my work, but because it feels like something is changing, and that uncertainty messes with me.
At the same time, I see what is working. The deep engagement, the real conversations, the actual impact. And that’s what matters. That’s purpose.
But the push and pull is real. I ping-pong between “I don’t care about views” and “But I do…” and that makes me feel vain and superficial. I feel shame for wanting bigger reach, even though I know my content is valuable.
But here’s the truth: content is always evolving. And that’s ultimately a good thing. The only way to survive it is to stop chasing and start creating from purpose.
And when I remind myself of that, I remember why I’m still here.
Thanks for the convo that struck a chord jamesthetang 💪
