Antarctica is one of the last truly wild places on Earth. But a booming krill industry is threatening the foundation of the Southern Ocean’s food web, disrupting ecosystems across the globe.
Krill may be tiny, but they play a colossal role in sustaining Antarctic life, from penguins to whales. Now, industrial fishing is decimating this keystone species to feed farmed salmon and meet the global demand for pet food and krill oil.
Meanwhile CCAMLR, the framework in place to protect the Antarctic’s wildlife from unsustainable fishing, looks the other way.
Not on our watch.
We’re on a mission to end Antarctic krill fishing and bring new hope to the Southern Ocean.
