Many healthcare providers deny its existence altogether (ahem, Margaret 😒) and the AHA won’t address it. This increases the risk of trauma to the patient and moral injury to the provider when they’re unfamiliar with this type of patient presentation and how to safely manage it without compromising the chance of survival to the patient.
