On the edge of the lake I heard the following just before my first ever cold dip:
‘It’s best not to touch the water first. When you get in just get in, don’t think.’
‘Lower yourself down to the neck straight away, don’t stop.’
‘Step in on that exhale.’
And.. ‘It’s nice when you get out though, look at the sun!’
3.20 on the clock, this is one of a handful of activities I’ve wanted to try recently to help myself out, mentally and physically. It’s nice to be able to share it with great people on the day, and on social media, but rest assured when I was in the water I had no other thought than to close my eyes and breath. I have learned that I have limited control over what’s coming next in life so I chose to enjoy this kind of madness for what it is! I noticed watching back that I don’t laugh or smile at anything Adam says because guess what, I’m cold! What a beautiful spot though.
