Several times, I’ve found myself at a crossroad between cycling—which I do more for mental health than fitness—and my role as a family man. Everyone celebrates present fathers, but no one talks about how hard it really is. Every time you show up, you’re expected to be at your best. You carry the emotional and mental load for others—while often running on empty yourself. There’ve been moments when I’m in a dark place, still smiling, still helping my daughter with homework… then I get on my bike and start to process the weight. I leave it on the road, piece by piece. And yet, guilt creeps in. Because I’ve been conditioned not to prioritize myself. That quiet, healing time isn’t celebrated like the time I’m showing up for others. So this Father’s Day week, here’s to the dads who pour out constantly—without always having a place to refill. You are seen. #FathersDay #MentalHealthForDads #PresentFathers #YouAreSeen #cyclingformentalhealth #FatherhoodJourney #BlackDadsMatter #cyclist #...
