🦎 3rd and 4th graders from Nantahala School recently became salamander scientists for a day at Nantahala National Forest! With support from HighlandsBioStation and our team, students explored the Wasilik Poplar Trail on a Salamander Discovery Hike. Armed with magnifying glasses, ID sheets, and curiosity, they found dozens of salamanders and learned about the fascinating hybrid species that live where lowland and mountain habitats meet.
