Joe Carey (joecareygolf) is trending in the right direction. The sophomore from Yorktown finished tied for second at the NYSPHSAA Boys Championships on Monday at Mill Creek Golf Club in Churchville. He came into the final round a shot off the lead, but a 6-under 65 gave Jamesville DeWitt’s Jackson Saroney a six-shot victory. Carey posted rounds of 68 and 70 to finish with a 4-under 138 total alongside C.J. Strong of CBA-Albany.
