Nina Choe (ninachoegolf) brings home a NYSPHSAA Girls Championship.
The junior at Ursuline ran away from the field, claiming the NYSPHSAA Girls Championship by seven shots. She opened with a 70 on Sunday and closed with a 68 on Monday to finish with a 6-under of 138 at Wild Wood Country Club in Rush.
“I was pretty confident coming in,” said Choe, who posted the two best rounds of the tournament. “The confidence I had from winning sectionals gave me a boost for states. … It means a lot. I’ve been coming to states since I was in eighth grade and I’ve been trying to win it for some time, so to finally get it done feels really good.”
