With 7;45 left in the first quarter of its state Class D regional final girls lacrosse game against Cold Spring Harbor, Maddie Becerra scored off an 8-meter free shot to put Pleasantville up 3-2. There was zero indication at that point that Pleasantville wouldn't score again until 3:07 was left in the third quarter, and that a game that started with such promise would end as a blowout. But that's how Pleasantville's season concluded at rainy Lakeland High Saturday, June 7, as Cold Spring Harbor, the defending state Class D champion, earned a return trip to the state semifinals.
