You want the ball in the net, not off the bar. And second, you are practicing something that has very limited match application - hitting a stationary ball softly with a driven or chip technique (rare you will do that in a match. At minimum the ball is slightly rolling, the target or space is moving, and pressure is on the way). BUT it does one thing really well. It requires absolute precision. To hit 3 in a row or from further away not only requires even more precision, but discipline and persistence in failure to get the ball(s) and repeat attempts until you complete your goal.
