1782 SHIPWRECK ARTIFACTS! The Wrecked! exhibition at the St. Augustine Lighthouse & Maritime Museum tells the story of sixteen ships from the American Revolution that wrecked off the coast of St. Augustine in 1782. These ships transported British Loyalist refugees from Charleston, South Carolina, during the height of the American Revolution when the American army seized control of the city. View hundreds of artifacts from this shipwreck discovered off the coast of St. Augustine, Florida — muskets, the ship’s bell, a canon and carronade, plates and spoons, personal items like lice combs and a tiny mirror and so much more! The exhibit is on view in the Keeper’s House and is included in general admission.
