In a story that’s both heartbreaking and deeply moving, six-year-old Nong Auto had his final wish come true earlier this year: to meet his favorite animal — Moo Deng, the beloved pygmy hippo at Khao Kheow Open Zoo in Thailand. 🦛💔⁠ ⁠ Battling late-stage cancer, Auto's one wish was to see Moo Deng in person. Thanks to a compassionate medical team and the zoo staff, that wish was granted just after the New Year. The zoo made special arrangements to give Auto a private moment with Moo Deng, clearing the area so he could be up close with the baby hippo he adored.⁠ ⁠ On June 2, the zoo shared the sad news of Auto’s passing.
