In a story that’s both heartbreaking and deeply moving, six-year-old Nong Auto had his final wish come true earlier this year: to meet his favorite animal — Moo Deng, the beloved pygmy hippo at Khao Kheow Open Zoo in Thailand. 🦛💔
Battling late-stage cancer, Auto's one wish was to see Moo Deng in person. Thanks to a compassionate medical team and the zoo staff, that wish was granted just after the New Year. The zoo made special arrangements to give Auto a private moment with Moo Deng, clearing the area so he could be up close with the baby hippo he adored.
On June 2, the zoo shared the sad news of Auto’s passing. Since then, messages of love and grief have poured in from across Thailand and beyond — especially from the
#Moodengeth community, who say they’re honored to have been part of Auto’s dream.
