The final days of classes of our 2024-25 school year marked the 50th year of teaching in Catholic education by Andrea Tyrpak-Endres.
Tyrpak-Endres, the chair of the Religious Studies Department and Principal Emeritus, was honored by President Fr. David Ciancimino, S.J., Principal Tom Coppola ’01, colleagues and students in a surprise announcement and presentation following her final class of the year.
Fr. Ciancimino presented Tyrpak-Endres with a signed letter written by Fr. Arturo Sosa, S.J., the Superior General of the Society of Jesus.
“For 50 years, but especially for 42 years at Canisius, you have played a large, active, and invaluable part in fostering this important work” of Ignatian Spirituality and Jesuit education, the letter states.
“On behalf of the whole Society, I am honored and delighted to extend to you our gratitude, our admiration, and our appreciation for your long and devoted service.”
