Happy Father’s Day to all the dads, especially our longtime assistant coach, Simon Walters! 💙 Simon joined the Miners as a hitting coach in 2017 before being promoted to his current position of assistant coach. For the past eight seasons, he’s been an integral part of the team’s culture and is the glue that holds the club together. His championship pedigree and steady demeanor have brought strong leadership and stability to the organization. Alongside manager Bobby Jones, Simon helped guide the Miners to their first championship in the magical 2018 Can-Am League season. At skylandsstadium, Simon can be seen in his familiar #5, patrolling foul ground as our third-base coach and congratulating players as they round the bases. Simon resides in Coral Springs, Florida, with his high school sweetheart and wife of 22 years, Fabiana.
