BIG NEWS: Hazel Elementary School has been awarded a $10,000 Sustainability Jersey Grant funded by the PSEG Foundation. Principal Joel Castillo attended the grant award event at The College of New Jersey to accept the honor, which recognizes the collaborative efforts between school leadership and the Hazel PTA. The grant will support the development of a Greenhouse Learning Space on school grounds. The greenhouse will grow vegetables to help stock the school’s recently opened pantry, with items distributed to Hazel families as needed.
