Today is the beginning of forever. My heart is so full, and I’m honored to be this boy’s mom. I can’t explain the feeling of joy and relief as we went to the courthouse this afternoon, and the judge made it official. We’re a family. Forever. . A little part of me is hesitant to share this moment in our foster care journey because it only shows one part of the story. I haven’t shared the messy road that led us here. But the details of how we got here aren’t mine to share. So here’s what I want you to know: . This wasn’t plan A. And although we are now in a place where we are overflowing with joy, there was a long period of sadness on behalf of this little person (and his bio parents) who can’t yet understand the gravity of what all of this means. .
