🖤❤️💚 Today we celebrate Juneteenth, honoring freedom, reflecting and remembering the significant, cultural resilience of African American’s in the United States.
On June 19, 1865, enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas were informed of their freedom granted by the Emancipation Proclamation, more than two years after its signing. Today’s date marks the complete end of slavery in the United States, and it carries the weight of injustice, the strength of resistance, and the symbolic fight towards equality. This history will not be forgotten.
Today, we honor the past, celebrate Black freedom and culture, and continue our commitment to community.
