How to hold your child for otoscopic examinations, earmold impressions or ear cleanings.
This photo was taken while we were filming clinical scenes at chearshearingcenter for my online program, “My Child Has Hearing Loss, Now What?” (Links in bio or DM me for more information!)

This is what I tell parents in clinic:
1. Have your child facing you, wrap their legs around your waist
2. Hug him or her over their shoulders with your arms/elbows
3. Hold their head close to you above their ear
4. Place your chin or cheek on their head (to deter head butting/you accidentally biting your tongue)
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This helps significantly with children who are nervous, scared and violent kicking - keeping both parties safe!
