Step Into History 2025 celebrates place-based history, and we want to thank everyone who joined us last week at Patapsco Valley State Park for the unveiling of this summer's frame!
Katie Caljean, MCHC President and CEO, was joined by Howard County Historical Society Executive Director Ann Bennett, Howard County Arts Council Executive Director Coleen West, and Howard County Office of Transportation Administrator Trey Dickinson to cut the ribbon and officially open the result of this community partnership to the public. Robert Bailey, historian and Historic Planner for the Maryland Department of Natural Resources, shared more about the story of the Avalon Nail and Iron Works that once existed nearby.
