A major loss for the global Indigenous fashion community. 💔 Samoan fashion designer and Project Runway star Afa Ah Loo (afa.ahloo) was fatally shot on June 14 while attending the No Kings March in Salt Lake City. He was 39 years old. Police say he was an innocent bystander, “not the intended target,” struck by a stray bullet fired by a peacekeeper attempting to stop a gunman. Afa was a trailblazer — the first Samoan designer to compete on Project Runway and Project Runway Redemption. His joyful, bold creations celebrated Pacific identity on the global stage.
