Class of 2025 graduate Tegan Rutherford is attending Trinity University in San Antonio this fall, to major in biochemistry on a pre-med track. Rutherford knew about Trinity since her sophomore year, but only vaguely. When applying to colleges, she had wanted to apply to a couple of in-state schools, to have an in-state safety net. Visiting a couple schools, Rutherford was drawn to Trinity.  “As soon as I visited it, I was like this is awesome,” she said. “And I want to go to med school and I’m not the kind of person who can figure it all out on my own, and Trinity is going to help me with that.” Rutherford always knew she wanted to help people later in life, which manifested in different career ideas, like her fascination with being a teacher when she was younger.  “A couple years ago I shifted into something more medicine related, because I think the difference between a good doctor and a bad doctor is so important,” she said.  Choosing Trinity due to a scholarship she received, a...
