Arrows In Action, Download Festival 2025
REVIEW: If there wasn’t already an abundance of sun shining down on Donington, Arrows In Action are adding a few extra rays for good measure.
Their cool and carefree pop-rock, the sort that soundtracks the best Summer of your life, is a departure from the unrelenting heaviness that often defines a Download line-up, but those who have joined them at the Avalanche Stage are revelling in its cleansing powers.
It’s also drummer Jesse Frimmel’s birthday, and you can tell that playing on this stage is one of the best gifts he has ever gotten. It’s made even better by all of the new friends the band are making here joining them in a bit of stomp and clap during a bright-eyed ‘Head In The Clouds’. Throw in their sensational cover of Twenty One Pilots’ ‘Ride’, a new staple in the set following them recording it for Rock Sound’s ‘Blurryface Reborn’ tribute album, and you have one of the most feel-good sets of the festival.
