Loathe, Download Festival 2025 REVIEW: There’s no band in the UK doing it quite like Loathe. Well, that’s been the case for several years at this point, as Merseyside’s finest have been pushing the ante of what a heavy band can look, feel and sound like in every corner of the world continuously. And to hear such intense explorations play out on a platform as vast and commanding as the Apex Stage only further solidifies how firmly on the cutting edge they continue to be. Fresh offering ‘Gifted Every Strength’, ebbing and weaving at breakneck speed between sonic textures, offers a sensational glimpse of where the band’s creative minds are at currently, whilst the edges around ‘New Faces In The Dark’ has only got more and more jagged as time has gone on, leaving many in attendance with their jaws firmly on the floor when its breakdown hits.
