Malevolence, Download Festival 2025 REVIEW: Though their set was a secret up until a few hours ago, it’s no secret the rise that Malevolence have experienced these past few years. Going above and beyond their DIY hardcore and beatdown roots, they have captured the imagination of a whole different breed of metalhead, which has resulted in a string of absolutely ludicrous moments. And judging by the patron entering the mosh pit here with a gum shield in, this is about to be another for the list. There are few better ways to kick off the release week of your new record, but hearing several thousand voices bellowing back the words to ‘If It’s All The Same To You’ and ‘Trenches’ must be that little bit sweeter for the lads.
