Walker County Board of Education held a meeting Thursday, the first school board meeting since the arrest of Walker County Sheriff Nick Smith. The board room was filled with concerned parents regarding his arrest. Smith was indicted and arrested for allegedly hiring six deputies who were unqualified and not certified by the state with four of the officers being School Resource Officers for Walker County Schools.
