Trinity ✈️ Sicily: Beyond the Classroom 🌍
After completing their spring coursework, students in the “Performing Human Rights” class traveled to Sicily, Italy, for a two-week immersive experience in late May.
The trip, led by political science professors Katsuo Nishikawa Chávez and Rosa Aloisi and theatre professor Roberto Prestigiacomo, was a continuation of their spring course, which explored the intersection of human rights, migration, and performance, allowing students to engage with communities and their migration challenges. During the spring semester, students engaged with local migrant communities in San Antonio, and while in Sicily, they worked with migrants and refugees.
This course is part of Trinity’s Beyond the Classroom program, a selection of courses with a study abroad component that is completed either before or after the semester.
