A 21-month-old girl died Sunday after being left in a hot car for over nine hours, St. Tammany deputies said. Her father is now charged with second-degree murder.
According to the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office, the man picked up his daughter around 2:30 a.m., strapped her into a car seat, and never returned to the vehicle.
The heat index reached over 100 degrees that day.
