Spending time with the lion prides of the Namiri Plains gave me the chance to fall back into a rhythm I hadn’t felt in ages. The past few years working alongside the people defending our planet on the frontlines of climate collapse have been among the most meaningful of my life, but there is a cost. Holding onto hope through the staggering scale of loss and the scars we leave on nature takes a toll on the human psyche. Out here on the Serengeti, I found the space to pause and be still, watching lions silhouetted on the kopjes and breathing in the smell of dust and rain. asiliaafrica
