When Jim Obergefell was sitting in the gallery at the Supreme Court on June 26, 2015, he was waiting to hear his name. But the moment wasn’t, and could never be, totally complete — even as the landmark case for LGBTQ+ rights ultimately won favor with a majority of the justices. His husband, John Arthur, died years before the ruling was announced. "We were married in every sense of the word, and now the highest court in the land agrees with us that we were married and it was something that we all deserved and should have had, honestly, for much longer than today," Obergefell said. #Pride #SupremeCourt #Obergefell
