Today is #ShowYourStripes Day, 🌍 a global moment to share concern about how the climate is changing and the need for urgent action. At NYRR, we aim to embed sustainability into everything we do, from hosting events to maintaining our facilities and giving back to the community. Throughout the year, we work with our vendors and city agency partners to be eco-friendly and divert waste, aiming to leave New York City’s streets and parks cleaner than we found them. In 2024, we introduced Team for Climate, a guaranteed race entry method that supports sustainability initiatives. In the first three events of the program, NYRR Team for Climate fundraisers offset the footprint of all three races, showing their commitment to NYRR's sustainability efforts and journey to Net Zero by 2040. Runners wore their official team singlets featuring climate stripes, highlighting the urgency of climate change and thereby amplifying the program’s impact. Read more at the link in our bio!
