Tropical Storm Erick in the Eastern Pacific may become a major hurricane before nearing landfall in Mexico later this week. At this time, our forecast is for a Category 3 near the Mexican coast Thursday morning, well east of Acapulco, which was devastated by Hurricane Otis in 2023, though they may still feel some effects.
