BUSTED! A local resident's work van containing several thousand dollars' worth of tools was reported stolen. However, within just a few hours, the 'getaway driver' was in custody and all of the tools recovered. On Friday, around 2:30 p.m., SCV Sheriff's deputies responded to the call of a Canyon Country resident who had his work van stolen. A few minutes later, on a different street in Canyon Country, a witness reported to the station that they saw two male adults unloading tools from the van and transferring them to another car. The two male adults then got into the vehicle, as passengers, abandoning the stolen work van. A description of the suspect's vehicle was obtained and the information was shared with our LASD partners. After a relatively short period of time, we were notified by our partners at Palmdale Sheriff's Station that one of their deputies located the suspect's vehicle in their city and a female adult (the driver) was detained.
